Bosch intake air temperature sensor for the classic BMW M50/M60/M70/S50 engine family. Working alongside the mass air flow system, it measures the temperature of air entering the engine so the DME can fine-tune the fuel mixture and ignition timing for changing air density; a failing sensor causes inaccurate fueling, rough running, and reduced performance, especially noticeable with temperature changes.
